“I successfully help substance users and their step out of the addiction drama and get their lives back”
I have worked in the addiction field for more than 30 years, and over that time, have seen how few resources there are for families and friends of addicts and alcoholics. I have developed programs that support you, the family members, friends and loved ones to live you life no matter what the addicted person does. They are based on what YOU want, need and deserve, and NOT whether the addict in your life is in recovery or still using.
Over that time working with addicts and their families, I have also realized that the 12-step recovery model isn’t for everyone. Medication assisted treatment, Harm Reduction, Faith-based and Smart Recovery are only a few of the options available. In many cases, working with you as a Recovery Coach helps us develop an alternative set of goals and let’s us work long distance, via video conferencing.
I also work with clients who do not present with a substance use problem. Shame and stigma often prevent many of us from seeking treatment for depression, anxiety and trauma. A safe environment, a sacred space is necessary to find your voice and develop the skills to address these issues and live a full and happy life.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in NJ. My MSW (Master of Social Work) is from the Wurzweiler School of Social Work, Yeshiva University, NYC. I have an undergraduate degree in Political Science (go figure) from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
I knew I wanted to be a social worker when I started volunteering at the Boulder County Rape Crisis Center in 1985, and pursued my dream when I moved back to my home state of NJ in 1987.
I know addiction from both sides, and remember how I was treated as the significant other of an addict. I sure seemed a lot crazier than him, but I wasn’t crazy. I was scared, lonely and looking for answers. Just like you. Everyone’s story is different, the exact path out of the drama is a little different for everyone, but with support, a plan and a guide to help you map it out, you can get your life back. I did. I didn’t just SURVIVE, I THRIVED!
Let me help you create a life worth living. Today. Now!
